The Hershey Community Chorus
|
The mission of the Hershey Community Chorus is to promote
fellowship and choral education among its members and provide
our audience with a memorable experience.
The HCC has been an integral part of the Hershey Community for 75 years. Hershey Theatre has been its primary performing home since 1967. The Chorus continues to provide music to the Hershey community as well as providing the opportunity for people to come together and be part of a non audition music group. Our membership includes individuals from the immediate Hershey area as well as Harrisburg, Lebanon, Mechanicsburg, Etters and Elizabethtown. The Chorus is one of the largest of these known groups in the Central Pennsylvania Region.
The Chorus is a non-profit organization and relies upon membership fees, ticket sales, contributions from the community, member fundraising and volunteers to cover the cost of each concert. These costs include such things as rehearsal facility rental, Hershey Theatre rental, stagehand fees, sound equipment rental, piano and organ tuning, program printing, advertising, sheet music, guest performers, producer and director fees, liability insurance and various taxes.
In addition to its scheduled concerts, the Chorus will perform upon invitation at outside events. Past events include:
The Candle-lighting Ceremony at Hersheypark’s Christmas Candylane
The Hershey Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Fall Hershey Garden Fest
The Spring Harrisburg Artfest
M.S. Hershey Birthday Stamp Celebration
Caroling at The Hershey Playhouse
Caroling at Christkindlmart at The Hershey Story
Patriotic concert at The Hershey Story
