The Hershey Community Chorus

Producer and Director
James J. Hoffmann has been the Musical Director since the fall of 1986.
He is also the
Director of Music at Cedar Cliff High School. He earned
his B.S. and M.A. degrees in music education from Indiana University of
PA, with additional study at Arizona State University, Northwestern University,
and the University of Colorado. His graduate work has focused on musical
theatre direction and choral conducting.
During his tenure with the Chorus, the focus has been on offering
a wide variety of quality shorter choral works. Programming a mix of
A Cappella and accompanied pieces, Mr. Hoffmann often engages guest
musicians and soloists. He has also conducted members of the Chorus
on trips to Europe and the British Isles.
Brian Kreider, our newly appointed Producer brings with him a great deal
of experience.After 12 years as a producer at TNT and CNN in Atlanta, Brian
returned to his native PA in 2000 to head the state film office for
then Governor Tom Ridge.
He has written, directed and produced several films and theatrical
productions including the Milton Hershey play, "The Blue Eyed Six",
and the award-winning documentary film, “What Would
Mister Hershey Say?"
Brian previously was a member of the Hershey Community Chorus as a
Bass singer and is excited to be appointed as Producer of the Chorus,
serving this time in the wings where he wants to contribute to its
success and savor the sweet sounds of truly wonderful voices.
